How to try clothes online with a photo (no fitting room needed)
Use a full-body or half-body selfie plus a product image to preview an outfit before you buy — and what virtual try-on still cannot promise.
You do not need a mall fitting room to answer a simple question: does this piece look right on me? Upload a clear photo of yourself, point at the garment image from the product page, and run a photo try-on.
This guide is for shoppers. Merchants who want the same flow on their storefront should read the embed one-liner instead.
What you need
- A recent photo of you — standing, arms slightly away from the body, soft even light.
- The garment image the store already shows (front shot works best).
- A modern browser. No special app install for the web studio.
Open the studio, pick Photo, upload both images, and wait a few seconds for the result. You can download it or keep it in history after you are signed in.
Photo tips that actually change the result
- Prefer daylight or a lamp in front of you. Ceiling-only light makes sleeves and hems harder to place.
- Avoid heavy crop: if the camera only sees your face, the model has little body shape to work with.
- Busy backgrounds are fine; busy poses (twisting, sitting, hands covering the torso) are not.
- Sheer, shiny, or tiny-pattern fabrics are the usual failure cases — we spell those out in where try-on struggles.
Live camera vs photo
| Mode | Best for | Watch-outs | | --------- | ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------- | | Photo | Quiet compare of 2–3 SKUs, sharing a still | Needs a usable selfie | | Live | Fast “swap this / that” while browsing | Needs HTTPS + camera permission |
Both are fit checks, not a tape measure. Keep the store’s size chart beside the preview.
Try it on any product page
If you bounce between indie shops and big marketplaces, a browser extension / any-store flow keeps the fitting photo with you instead of trapping you in one walled storefront.
Credits (plain numbers)
Photo try-on uses credits (see current pricing). New accounts start at zero balance; a small trial pack is enough to preview several garments. We do not invent “accuracy %” scores here — if a fabric looks wrong, trust the honest miss and use the size guide.
